Hello
Ben Bernard has faced many challenges throughout his life so far. He was born with many disabilities. Degenerate eyesight, and a cleft palate to name a few. At the age of six he weighed fifty pounds. The doctors were concerned he wouldn't live past sixteen. He was adopted, moved to a new city with a new family, with new friends. His new teachers were worried he would never be able to read, much less write. Through everything he went through, he never gave up. He continues to fight back. And that is the definition of a resilient heart. No matter how much damage he takes, he comes back twice as strong. These stories are a collection of adventures he never should have had, dreams that would of been be impossible and the life he was told he could never live
My Story
Ben’s journey has been anything but easy. He has been lied to by those he once trusted, taken advantage of when he was at his most vulnerable, and had precious things stolen from him—not just possessions, but moments, trust, and hope. There were times when life seemed to beat him down relentlessly, leaving him feeling broken and lost. But within the depths of that hardship, a quiet strength began to grow. Ben didn’t just endure; he learned. He grew wiser with each betrayal, each setback sharpening his resolve rather than breaking his spirit. He worked harder than ever before, pouring every ounce of energy into reclaiming what was stolen—not just material things, but his dignity, his dreams, and his sense of self. He fought back—not with anger alone, but with courage, patience, and determination. His story is not just one of survival; it is a testament to resilience. These are the stories he has written to remind himself—and others—that being down doesn’t mean being out. There is always a way forward, even when the path is shrouded in darkness. Within these stories, Ben explores the long road to healing, the sometimes painful but ultimately liberating journey to self-love. He ventures into new adventures, discovering strength in vulnerability and hope in unexpected places. Each chapter is a step toward wholeness, a celebration of the human spirit’s capacity to rise again, no matter how many times it falls. Ben’s story is a beacon for anyone who has faced hardship. It is a reminder that wounds can heal, that love—especially self-love—can grow from the ashes, and that every new day carries the promise of a fresh start.
